In recent months, Meghan Markle has emphasized how Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have developed close bonds with several of her friends, including tennis icon Serena Williams.
But it’s not just Meghan’s circle that has grown—Prince Harry, too, appears to have formed a special relationship with a mentor-like figure, according to an American actress.
As reported by The Daily Mail, renowned Hollywood composer David Foster has taken on a fatherly role in Harry’s life in recent years. In a 2020 interview with Access Hollywood, Foster’s wife, actress Katharine McPhee, shared: “My husband has a really, really beautiful relationship with Harry. They’re like father and son.”
McPhee revealed that Foster played a significant role in helping the Sussexes find their temporary home in Canada, a luxurious estate, before their move to Montecito, California.
Reflecting on the time when Harry, Meghan, and a then-seven-month-old Archie needed a place to stay over the Christmas holidays, Foster said, “I felt honored to help Meghan because I’m Canadian, and as a commonwealth country, it means something to us. I grew up with that sense of connection.”
McPhee, who also has ties to Meghan, noted that the two attended the same school.
“She went to Immaculate Heart for both middle and high school,” McPhee said. “I went there for middle school.”
In June 2022, following their brief trip to the UK for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, Harry was seen playing polo in California, joined by Foster and McPhee, further highlighting their strong friendship.
Meghan has also spoken about the tight-knit group of friends who surround her family. On her podcast, With Love, Meghan, she affectionately referred to her longtime friend and makeup artist Daniel Martin as “Uncle Daniel” to her children.
“The kids call him Uncle Daniel,” she shared. “They know him really well, and I love him to pieces.”
Martin, who’s worked with Meghan since her Suits days and was responsible for her wedding makeup in 2018, expressed his excitement when Meghan relaunched her Instagram account in January 2025, writing, “My sis is back,” and teasing fans to “watch this space.”
Among the other familiar figures in Archie and Lilibet’s lives is celebrity hairstylist Kadi Lee, founder of Highbrow Hippie, who recently appeared on Meghan’s podcast, and, of course, Serena Williams, reaffirming that the children have a close circle of loving, influential “aunties.”
Together, Harry and Meghan have created a supportive environment for their children, Prince Archie, now five, and Princess Lilibet, three, filled with loyal friends who have become an extended California-based family.
