Tim had just gotten back from his honeymoon. That evening, he was happily polishing his golf clubs in the living room when his new wife walked in, watching him quietly.
After a long pause, she said softly,
“Tim, now that we’re married… maybe it’s time for you to quit golfing. You spend so much time on the course, and you could probably sell your clubs for a good price.”
Tim froze mid-polish, his face suddenly pale.
“Honey, what’s wrong?” she asked.
He swallowed hard.
“For a second there, you sounded just like my ex-wife.”
She gasped.
“Ex-wife?! I didn’t know you’d been married before!”
Tim smiled weakly.
“I haven’t.” 😏
